SAMURAI CUP 2023

The Samurai Cup 2023 is the 9th edition of the World Class Competition being held at the Leonard E. Merrell Center at the end of January. National Level Athletes, US Team Members and International Competitors, are coming from all around the United States, Mexico, Central America, as well as National and World Referees. MORE INFO

KATY HALF MARATHON

The Katy Half Marathon is the only half marathon distance race in the west Houston area and features athletes from all over the city and Texas. It occurs in early February and boasts three events in one day – half marathon, 5K and Kids 1K. The sanctioned USA Track & Field event has thousands of participants and partners with many charities. From start to finish, the race is well organized, has great support, amazing volunteers, and enjoyable for both racers and spectators. MORE INFO

KATY ISD FFA LIVESTOCK SHOW & RODEO

One of the largest school rodeos in Texas, the three-day event held in mid February attracts some of the best rodeo professionals in the country. The rodeo and livestock show is a proud Katy tradition and one of our most historic events. This community driven rodeo is home to the Katy ISD FFA, one of the strongest in the state. The event brings entertainment to audiences and supports the FFA students. Some of the activities include a parade, livestock show, auction, carnival, bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, calf roping, calf scramble and mutton busting. The rodeo is held at the L.D. KATY MARKET DAY 

Katy Market Day events are held every third Saturday of the month (March through November). The themed events - which have included quilt shows, beer garden, motorcycle and car shows, etc. - are fun for the entire family. Each month features include booths of arts and crafts, antiques and collectibles, local produce and much more. Market Day events take place between Second Street and Avenue B in Downtown Historic Katy. MORE INFO

WILD WEST BREWFEST

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Katy, Wild West Brewfest is one of the largest brewfest's in the country, and it has been named the country’s #1 Brewfest for multiple years in a row by BeerYeti.com. It gives its patrons the opportunity to enjoy energizing fellowship, delicious brews and great entertainment right here in Katy. The WWBF is held at Typhoon Texas in March this year, and all proceeds benefit the Katy community. Come discover this family friendly event in a safe and relaxing environment – and expect the “unexpected”! MORE INFO

FOLK LIFE FESTIVAL 

Held in April at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center by Katy ISD, the festival takes place on the wooded 34.5-acre site. See, hear and smell black powder rifles and cannons booming, campfires burning, pottery wheels turning, the soft twang of the dulcimers, aroma of corn cakes to sample and open fire cooking. Come see and experience life on the prairie as it was a hundred years ago. MORE INFO

KATY FREEDOM CELEBRATION 

The City of Katy puts on a magnificent fireworks display at the Katy Boardwalk at 9pm.  Spend the day at Typhoon Texas for their 4th of July festivities and watch from inside the park or find a spot at the Katy Mills Mall Parking Lot for a perfect view to watch the show.

KATY RICE HARVEST FESTIVAL

The City of Katy, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Katy, hosts this iconic festival on the 2nd weekend of October in Downtown Historic Katy. The festival is a 3-day event starting with a complimentary kick off on Friday night. It is a first-class, family-friendly event featuring quality art & craft vendors, excellent live music and food options, carnival and much more. It also features a rice cooking competition and student arts competition. The Katy Rice Harvest Festival Parade is held on October 1st, and strolls through Historic Downtown Katy. The long-standing annual festival is fun for the whole family, and all proceeds benefit the Katy community! MORE INFO

KATY OLD-FASHIONED CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

On the first Saturday of December, Katy Market Days bring this Christmas festival to Historic Downtown Katy. Visitors can enjoy produce, arts, antiques, jewelry, handmade goods, carolers, amazing food trucks, a petting zoo and 50,000 pounds of snow for the kiddos! For the adults, No Label Brewery has their famous beer garden open all day. Santa makes his appearance for photos, and musical groups from local schools perform for the spectators. MORE INFO
